Rolling Stone has compiled a list of the 10 most annoying things that bands do at rock concerts, and without naming names, Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose would top the list as the number-one most annoying habit is “show up ridiculously late.”

2) Exclude key band members. “When Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac and Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones decided to scale back their lives and get off the road, we would have all preferred to see them with their bands still. The shows suffered from their absence, but people have a right to quit. A band isn't the mafia.”

3) Play too much from the new album. Culprits include Neil Young and Radiohead.

4) Only perform the hits. Culprits include Elton John and Billy Joel.

5) Play anything resembling a medley.

6) Ignore the music of your beloved former band.  

7) Play perverse arrangements of your songs. Bob Dylan is the biggest offender of this one.

8) Never vary the set list. Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam can never be accused of this.

9) Solo. “This will have some dissenters. But if you aren't Neil Peart, Ginger Baker, Eric Clapton or a musician on that level of genius, nobody wants to hear you solo.”

10) Squeeze every possible penny out of fans. “We know the concert industry is a business, and with record sales sinking to new lows every year, it's just about the only place where artists can make real money. That said: tickets shouldn't be $300 unless those seats are actually on the stage. Meet-and-greets should be nice perks for your most devoted fans, not ways to squeeze more money out of people -- some acts actually charge upwards of $1,000 for a quick handshake and a photo.”

A 33-year-old man , who fathered 22 children by 14 women, is being sued for tens of thousands of dollars in one of the city’s costliest child support cases to date.

Orlando Shaw blames his problems on youth and his love of women, saying, “I was young and ambitious and I love women. You can’t knock no man for loving women.”

The judge says Shaw would have to work three to four full-time jobs to come up with the unpaid child support money he owes.

His criminal record makes it tough for him to land a decent job.

But that doesn’t mean he’s given up hope on digging himself out of this hole.

“I play the hell out of the Tennessee lottery,” he said.

The father of the electric guitar Les Paul was born on this date in 1915.  Les explains how he came up with the idea for an invention that really changed the world.

Paul dropped out of high school to join a radio station band in St. Louis. In the 1930s, he worked performing jazz on Chicago radio. He became dissatisfied with the electric guitars being sold at the time and in 1941 designed what he called "The Log," a four-by-four fence post with a bridge, guitar neck and pickup attached. He attached the body of an Epiphone hollow-body guitar to The Log to make it look more presentable. This new solid-body guitar solved common problems such as feedback. Gibson Guitar Corporation designed a guitar incorporating Paul's suggestions in the early '50s. It became the Les Paul model, which is still used this day.

In 1947, Paul released "Lover (When You're Near Me)," which featured him playing eight different parts on electric guitar. These recordings were made not with magnetic tape, but with wax disks. It was the first time that multi-tracking had been used in a recording. In 1948 the Ampex company created the Ampex Model 200, the world's first commercially produced reel-to-reel audio tape recorder. Bing Crosby, who was an investor in Ampex, gave Paul what was the second Model 200 ever produced. Paul saw its potential for multi-track recording. He added an additional recording head and extra circuitry, allowing multiple tracks to be recorded on same tape. Ampex quickly developed Paul's invention into commercially produced two-track and three-track recorders. Paul and Ampex then collaborated on the first eight track tape recorder, which featured tape heads that could either record a new track or play back a previously recorded one. This technology was the basis for all multi-track recording.

  In Oregon, a thief busted into a woman’s trunk and ran off with $500 in sex toys.

The victim, Chelsea Coutts, bought the sex toys for a bachelorette party. The story has a happy ending, though. After her story was told on Facebook, people rallied and sent her a whole new collection of toys to make sure that her party went on as planned.
