Dave Grohl's Roswell Films has released the documentary "Sound City", which chronicles the rise and demise of one of the greatest recording studios in the history of Rock n' Roll. Literally HUNDREDS of platinum records were recorded there. And it's where Nirvana recorded "Nevermind".

The film is in limited release across the US (but according to the schedule will NEVER play here in the Yo/Warren area). But you can watch it on the Sound City website (link below) or on iTunes. I'm buying it on iTunes becasue it's only $3.00 more to buy it in SD than it is to rent it!

Occasionally, I enjoy hanging out on the board face-up. The engineers also enjoy not having to clean drool out of the faders, so it's a win-win

If you're cheap like me, you probably have the $8.00 streaming movies with Netflix. It's not packed with recent blockbusters, but is does feature cool stuff. Especially documentaries.

Anyhoo...

I noticed several "Classic Albums" mini documentaries when I was scrolling through "Recently Added" over the weekend. Turns out, there are a BUNCH of these available on Netflix. I had a chance to watch "Nevermind the Bollocks" last night. Excited to watch 2112 and Aja (? I think) tonight. Great job Netflix!
