The week-long deer gun harvest in Ohio was down 13% from 2012: it may be because the deer population in the state is down. The Division of Wildlife says other factors point that way: the number of car-deer accidents in 2012 was down over 7%. The total deer gun harvest was over 75,400; the numbers were "up" in the three local counties. It wasn't a particularly safe deer-gun-season that just concluded: there were seven shooting incidents in Ohio; three hunters were killed. None of those incidents happened in northeast Ohio.
